Dalhart Windberg  - Plein Air Class

Teton National Park, Jackson Hole, Wyoming

In the Summer of 2008 Windberg Art Center will host a Plein Air Workshop for Dalhart Windberg in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This will be a great opportunity for you plein air painters to work with a master artist in one of the most spectacular landscapes of north America, Teton National Park.

In this workshop we will present each day new compositions at different locations in the park. We will gather everybody together on the Sunday evening (7/6/2008) after check-in and go over any plans for the following days. We want to be at each morning location by 9AM. We will break for lunch around 12noon and be on our way to the afternoon location by 2PM. There are restaurants in Jackson and in the park around the resort areas. When we go out to a location far from any resorts we will picnic lunch those days. When you are there be prepared to capture as many as ten compositions during the week. Everyone that attends this workshop should have experience in painting outdoors and have worked out their painting rig. So if you have any doubts about your preparedness to paint out doors, my suggestion is to go to your local park, find a OK composition and paint..

All parks have visitors and this a very popular National Park so there will be tourist. So, be careful, you may sell them some art.

know what you do need to bring and what you don’t need to bring in the field. Note, even though we will be able to drive very close to most locations, some may require a short walk. Normally less that a hundred yards and usually on fairly level ground. Elevation of the Teton valley floor is 6,200 ft. above sea level .As usual we will have a limited supply of art products with us, but have your canvases and art boards prepared for use before class.
